How Less Faff collects, uses, shares and protects personal information. Version 1.0 — 8 May 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how Less Faff collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit lessfaff.uk, fill in one of the forms on the website, contact us, or engage us as a client. It is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).
We have tried to keep this policy plain and direct. If anything is unclear, please email hello@lessfaff.uk and we will explain.
Less Faff is a UK-based automation consultancy that helps high street and small businesses connect, configure and automate the tools they already use.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller is:
[LESS FAFF — INSERT LEGAL ENTITY: e.g. "Less Faff Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number [#######], whose registered office is at [address]" OR "[Your Full Name] trading as Less Faff, of [address]"]
Email: hello@lessfaff.uk
Website: lessfaff.uk
We are not currently required to register with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), [or our ICO registration number is ZA######## — DELETE WHICHEVER DOES NOT APPLY ONCE CONFIRMED]. You can check whether registration is required using the ICO's self-assessment tool at ico.org.uk.
We collect personal data in the following ways.
When you complete the quiz at lessfaff.uk/quiz, we collect:
When you complete the form at lessfaff.uk/book-a-call, we collect:
After submitting this form, you are taken to TidyCal to choose a call slot. The booking itself (your name, email and chosen time) is processed by TidyCal under their own privacy notice.
When you complete the form at lessfaff.uk/contact, we collect your name, email, the sector you selected, and the message you write to us.
If you email us, message us on WhatsApp, or get in touch via any other channel, we will receive whatever information you choose to share, including your name, contact details and the contents of your message.
When you visit lessfaff.uk, our hosting provider (Netlify) processes basic technical information needed to deliver the website to you. This may include your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. Netlify uses this primarily for security, abuse prevention and operational purposes.
If you have consented to non-essential cookies (see Section 7), we may also collect analytics and advertising-related information through third-party services such as the Meta Pixel.
If you engage Less Faff to deliver consultancy services, we will receive additional information necessary to perform that work — for example, login credentials to your tools, exports of customer data for testing, or invoices. The handling of this information is governed by the Less Faff Terms and Conditions and the Data Processing Agreement set out in those terms, not by this Privacy Policy.
Under UK GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. The table below sets out what we use your data for, and the lawful basis we rely on in each case.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered your rights and interests and concluded that they do not override our legitimate use of your data for the purpose described. You have the right to object — see Section 8.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do, however, use a small number of trusted third-party tools to run Less Faff. The categories of recipient are:
We may share information where we are legally required to do so — for example to comply with a court order, regulatory request, or to defend our legal rights.
If Less Faff is sold, restructured or transferred to another business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the new owner being bound by terms at least as protective as those set out here.
Some of our service providers (including Google, Notion, Anthropic, TidyCal, Resend and Meta) are based in the United States or process data outside the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on one of the following safeguards required by UK GDPR:
If you would like more information about the specific safeguards used by any provider, please email hello@lessfaff.uk.
We keep personal data only for as long as we have a legitimate reason to do so. Specifically:
| Type of data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Quiz and contact-form submissions where you do not become a client | Up to 24 months from your last interaction with us, after which the record is deleted unless you have agreed to receive ongoing marketing |
| Discovery call submissions where the call does not lead to a client engagement | Up to 24 months from the date of the call |
| Records relating to clients and engagements | For the duration of the engagement and for 7 years after the end of the engagement (to meet UK accounting and tax record-keeping requirements) |
| Marketing email subscribers | Until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to confirm and process the unsubscribe request |
| Website server logs and security records | Up to 12 months |
At the end of the relevant retention period, we delete or anonymise the data.
A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies in the following ways.
These are required for the website to work and to keep it secure. They do not require your consent. They are typically set by Netlify (our hosting provider) for security and load balancing.
We may use the following cookies and similar technologies, but only after you have given consent through the cookie banner:
You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the cookie preferences link in the footer of the website, or by clearing cookies in your browser settings.
Some pages may load fonts from Google Fonts, embedded TidyCal scheduling, or other third-party content. These providers may set their own cookies as part of delivering that content. Please refer to their own privacy notices for more information.
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, please email hello@lessfaff.uk. We will normally respond within one calendar month and will not charge a fee, unless your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
We hope you will speak to us first if you have a concern, so we can try to resolve it. You can also lodge a complaint with the UK's data protection regulator:

Less Faff's services are aimed at business owners and other adults. The website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact hello@lessfaff.uk and we will delete it.
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction or damage. These include using reputable service providers that themselves apply strong security practices, restricting access on a need-to-know basis, applying multi-factor authentication where available, and using encryption in transit.
No system is ever completely secure. If we become aware of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours of becoming aware of it and, where required, notify you without undue delay.
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, our service providers, or applicable law. The version number and date at the top of this policy will be updated when we do so. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
